Bandaide adhesive allergy

I applied a target brand bandaide to a cut on my lower leg and I ended up with a worse problem - a bandaide allergy. I am now on antibiotics because of the allergic reaction to the bandaide adhesive.

Waterproof Band-aid on too long
by: Jasmine

I put a waterproof bandaid on my daughter's bug bite because that was all we had at the time for treating it. Well being the push over I am, I left it on until the bandaid fell off. The skin areas where the white part of the bandaid was in contact with the skin have red raised areas with little bumps. I had some Neosporin and used it on the affected skin area and let it get air exposure. The bumps are still there but getting a tiny bit better over the last week. Does this warrant a trip to doctor? My husband thinks no, but I have no idea as I tend to go overboard.
