Small Red Stinging Rash

by Devin
(United States)

I just returned from a vacation in St. Thomas where I was exposed to a lot of sun, salt water, and chlorine. One of the last days of my vacation I had to sit in my wet bathing suit for almost three hours. This seems to have caused a small red itchy rash or stinging skin rash. My rash is between my thighs and under my armpits. I think it is some sort of skin rash from my wet bathing suit rubbing and irritating my skin.

Also, I have had eczema on the crooks of my arms ever since I was a little girl and it has all of a sudden acted up to its worst. The rash spreads over an area of about five inches long and three inches across on my right arm. On my left arm it is about four inches long and two inches across.

It stings constantly! I recently put some prescription cream on my arms and it is starting to feel a little better. I also tried putting this same cream on my other rash and it didn't really help, but it didn't make it worse. Please Help!! I have to go back to school in a couple days and I hope it will clear up by then. THANKS!!

Tiny Red Raised Bumps on Body

by Amanda
(Lansing, MI)

Four days ago my son became covered in tiny red bumps, raised, and they do not itch. We were watching a movie and then when brushing his teeth he got them, just like that.

The tiny red raised bumps cover his face, hands, neck, back, legs, and feet, but not the palms or bottom of the feet and he said they don't itch. He had a low grade fever and mild cold symptoms and since then has seemed very tired.

Any ideas?

I have googled this tiny red rashes non-itchy bumps skin condition over and over and I am having no luck and therefore considering a visit to the doctor's office.

Red Tiny Bumps on Knee and Arm

by Anonymous

Hi, I am a twenty year old female and this skin rash has been on my leg about two months now. At first it did not itch, and the times it did I would be laying on it. But generally, it was nothing that bothered me all that much. The skin rash is located right around my knee. It can be described as one of those red rashes with tiny bumps. The skin rash is about the size of a penny but it is more linear in shape. It looks as though another skin rash area has appeared on my arm as well. I put some anti itch cream on it just to see if it would go away but it did not. The skin rash is just staying there, and I do not know what it is. I have not been to the doctor because it really wasn't bothering me all that much, but because more months are passing by I am starting to wonder if this is anything more serious, especially since it appears to be spreading to my arm.

Itchy Skin Patch Turns into Red Itchy Bumps

by Anonymous

Around the month of February, I noticed a red itchy rash patch on my hip. It was persistent so I went to the dermatologist and she gave me a spray and some antihistamines. It nearly went away but then reappeared somewhere else. We tried a variety of treatments to help including steroid shots, creams, and stronger antihistamines. Finally, prednisone knocked out the itchy red rash but it came back. I then went to an allergist and he thinks it's a form of eczema. I'm on steroid cream and antihitamines but it has still never gone away completely.
