Foot Rash

There are many causes for a foot rash. A feet rash can be simply due to a viral source such as shingles, chicken pox, or HIV. The rash on the feet may be bacterial in nature and examples of this include a strep rash, syphilis rash, or cellulitis skin infection rash. These types of rashes generally affect the skin on the whole body and may or may not include the feet. Other types of general skin rashes that affect the body and possibly the feet include food allergy rashes, stress rashes, niacin and other vitamin deficiency rashes, reactions to drugs such as penicillin, eczema, psoriasis, and chemical dermatitis.

More localized feet rashes may be caused by bug bites or contact with poisonous plants such as poison ivy or poison oak. These are common sources of rashes on the foot in the summer months, when walking bare foot or in sandals are common practice.
